He was an All-Star reliever for the Patriots during the 2008 season, finishing with a 6-4 record, a 4.63 ERA, and 29 strikeouts in 70 innings pitched in 56 games. Cahill was 4-0 with a 3.65 ERA, a save, and 26 strikeouts in 44.1 innings in 31 games for Somerset in 2007. He posted an 11-0 record and a 0.44 earned-run average as an Immaculata High School senior in 2000. He allowed four runs and struck out 109 batters in 63 innings to cap a career that included a school-record 28 wins. Cahill, a New Brunswick native, was drafted in the 10th round of the 2000 draft by the Baltimore Orioles, where he reached as high as the Triple-A level. He has a career record of 29-20 with a 3.99 ERA, 18 saves, and 288 strikeouts in 440 innings pitched in 312 games.
