Patriots Playoff History:
This would be the Somerset Patriots ninth playoff trip in 13 seasons of the Atlantic League, with the team winning the Championship in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2009. The 2008 and 2009 Championship made the Patriots the first-ever Back-To-Back Champions in Atlantic League History.

2001: Won the Championship Series over the Newark Bears 3-2

Memorable Patriots Playoff Moments:

2001:
Game Four of the Atlantic League Championship Series- The Patriots rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning on a two-run home run by first baseman Mike Glavine to tie the game. The Patriots won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning on a three-run blast by Greg Blosser to force a decisive Game Five in Newark that Somerset would go on to win. In Game Five, Patriots lefty ace Robert Dodd started on two days rest to earn the win and shut down the Bears. 




2003: Patriots starting pitchers Brett Jodie and Justin Jensen pitched back-to-back gems to lead Somerset to two shutouts over the Riversharks in the Divisional Series to advance to the Championship against the Nashua Pride, where the Patriots would go on to win 3-2, taking back to back games in Nashua after trailing in the series 2-1.





2005: Patriots right fielder Ryan Radmanovich launched a go ahead two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning over the Atlantic City Surf in the decisive Game Three of the Division Series to help propel Somerset to the Championship Series against the Nashua Pride, who they would sweep in three games. Patriots starter and currrent Milwaukee Brewer Mark DiFelice was named Playoff MVP, pitching two complete games and earning a save in the playoffs.





2008: Game Four of the Atlantic League Championship Series- Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Somerset rallied for two runs to tie up the game. After closer Brian Reith retired the Riversharks with three strikeouts in the top of the ninth, the stage was set for a dramatic finish. Patriots catcher Travis Anderson led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a solo, walk off home run to lead the Patriots to their record fourth Atlantic League title. 2009: Third Baseman Jeff Nettles won the Championship Series MVP, hitting .281 with nine runs scored, three home runs, and seven RBI in the post-season. It is the second time in his six-year Patriots career that he has received the honor. It was also Nettles' third Atlantic League Championship with Somerset.
