Bridgewater, NJ – The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of former Major League right-handed pitcher Bret Prinz.
Prinz has 102 games of Major League experience over seven seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and the Chicago White Sox. He last played in the Major Leagues last season with the White Sox.
Prinz has a Major League career 5-4 record with a 4.89 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 92 innings pitched.
Prinz has spent most of his career at the Triple-A level and has a minor league career 29-19 record with a 3.65 ERA and 387 strikeouts in 257 games.
Prinz spent the entire 2007 season either at the Triple-A level or the Major Leagues. He last played at Indianapolis, the Triple-A affiliate for the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he had a 1.29 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 14 games pitched.
“We are excited about adding Bret to our rotation. We feel that he has proven himself to be a strong pitcher at very high levels of play.
