Somerset Patriots Sign MLB Pitcher Dustin Molleken

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of Major League right-handed pitcher Dustin Molleken
 
Molleken has Major League service with the Detroit Tigers during the 2016 season. He owns a 4.32 ERA with eight strikeouts over 8.1 innings pitched. 
 
Molleken enters his first season with the Somerset Patriots and his first in the Atlantic League. 
 
This season, Molleken began his 2017 campaign with the AAA-Toledo Mudhens in the Tigers organization. The right-hander held a 2.76 ERA over 13 appearances with the team.
 
Molleken was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 15th round of the 2003 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Lethbridge College in Canada. Since being drafted, Molleken had spent time with the Pirates, Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, and Detroit Tigers. 
 
Molleken has pitched almost exclusively at the AAA level for each of the last seven seasons. In 200 career AAA games, Molleken spanned 267.1 innings, striking out 268 while maintaining a 4.14 ERA. 
 
Over the course of his 14-year professional career, Molleken has appeared in 410 games, including 32 starts, winning 44 games and saving 18 while striking out 640 batters over 705.1 career innings. 
 
Molleken has been activated for the upcoming series against the New Britain Bees.
