With every home run hit during the 2012 season, the Somerset Patriots are helping to raise money for the Somerset Medical Center Foundation.

Through individuals and corporate partners that have pledged a monetary donation for each Patriots long ball, the team will be able to raise thousands of dollars to help the important work of the Somerset Medical Center Foundation.

"Thanks to our growing partnership with the Somerset Patriots, individuals and local businesses will have the opportunity to step up to the plate in support of Somerset Medical Center by joining the 2011 Home Run Club," said Paul Huegel, vice president of the Somerset Medical Center Foundation. "There's nothing more thrilling at the ballpark than a Patriots player hitting a home run. To be able to make a difference in the lives of the people being treated at the medical center will add excitement to every long ball hit this season. We look forward to recruiting a record number of participants to the Home Run Club."

Somerset Medical Center Foundation, is the non-profit organization created in 1993 to solicit and administer charitable funding on behalf of Somerset Medical Center. Through financial support from individuals, families, organizations, foundations and corporations, the Foundation enables the medical center to meet the demands for physical growth and modernization, proactive educational programming, and recruitment of superior clinical and administrative professionals.

“We are very happy to provide this opportunity to our partners at the Medical Center to raise money for their wonderful programs. The money will go directly to helping fund patient care and needs, and that is a very important need in the community,” said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
