Bridgewater, NJ – The Four-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots and the Somerset County Education Association recognized Somerset County schools’ Teachers of the Year.
On Monday, June 1st and Wednesday, June 3rd the Patriots hosted Somerset County Teacher Appreciation Nights at TD Bank Ballpark for the Patriots games against the Lancaster Barnstormers.
The Patriots invited the Teachers of the Year from each Somerset County school and provided tickets to the teachers, their guests, and their classes to come out to the ballpark for these special nights.
The Somerset County Teacher Appreciation Nights featured a pre-game program to recognize the teachers down on the field.
On June 1st, the Patriots honored the following teachers:
Joan Arshen (Hillsborough Middle School), Pamela Coscia (Hillsborough Elementary), Karen Finazzo (Liberty Corner School), John Fry (Ridge High School), Angela Hall (Mount Prospect School), Alexis Holbrook (East End School), Rachael Lopa (Alexander Batcho Intermediate School), Kirstie Nafey (Adamsville Primary School), Victoria Perkins (Weston Elementary School), Jennifer Pisano (Roosevelt School), Wayne Segal (John F. Kennedy Primary School), and Maureen Ziolkowski (Bedwell Elementary School).
On June 3rd, the Patriots honored:
Anita Brower (Woodland School), Bonnie Corrington (Robert Morris School), Doreen Darr (Green Brook Middle School), Susan DiCenzo (Triangle School), Dawn Eisele (Hamilton Primary School), Theresa Foy (Oak Street School), Michael Grey (Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School), Kathy Guide (Irene E. Feldkirchner School), Maggie Hintz (Hillsborough High School), Heather Klim-Urbano (Valley View School), Helen Kyritsis (Van Holten Primary School), Karen McGrath (Crim Primary School), Megan McManus (Amsterdam Elementary School), Camille Ragin (Somerset School), Noreen Ranallo (Sunnymead School), Debbie Sullivan (Bayberry School), and Yvonne Tang (Milltown Primary School).
Hundreds of students turned out to support their teachers at the ballpark on both nights.
“We know how hard teachers work all year and we want to make sure they know that the community appreciates all that they do for our kids. These nights are designed as a special thank you to all teachers and to highlight those that received the recognition as their schools’ Teacher of the Year,” said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
