Barnstormers Sweep Doubleheader Against Patriots

Arnesen pitches for first time in two months

Lancaster, PA – The Lancaster Barnstormers (31-22, 70-53) swept a doubleheader over the Somerset Patriots (29-25, 76-48) Tuesday evening from Clipper Magazine Stadium. The games were delayed one hour and 53 minutes due to rain.


Game One:


The Lancaster Barnstormers beat the Somerset Patriots 6-1 in game one of the doubleheader.

Lancaster, PA – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (29-23, 76-46) travel to the Keystone state to battle the Lancaster Barnstormers (29-22, 68-53) for a doubleheader from Clipper Magazine Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. as each game will be seven innings and there will be a 30 minute break in between. Somerset is 10-6 against Lancaster in 2014.

York, PA – The Somerset Patriots (29-23, 76-46) defeated the York Revolution (29-23, 70-52) 11-8 Monday evening from Santander Stadium. The victory snapped Somerset’s three game losing streak.


In the top of the first inning the Patriots jumped out to a 2-0 lead as left fielder Aharon Eggleston sprayed a RBI double and designated hitter Corey Smith stroked a RBI single.

York, PA – The York Revolution (29-22, 70-51) defeated the Somerset Patriots (28-23, 75-46) 12-11 Sunday evening from Santander Stadium.


In the bottom of the first inning the Revolution plated a pair of runs to take a 2-0 advantage. A run scored via a throwing error by Kevin Kotch and another run came across via a dropped third strike when first baseman Chad Tracy struck out.

York, PA – The York Revolution (28-22, 69-51) defeated the Somerset Patriots (28-22, 75-45) 8-5 Saturday evening from Santander Stadium.


In the bottom of the first inning York grabbed a 2-0 lead as catcher Shea Harris committed a throwing error that led to a run and first baseman Chad Tracy plated a run via a RBI groundout.

York, PA – The York Revolution (27-22, 68-51) defeated the Somerset Patriots (28-21, 75-44) 6-5 in 13 innings Friday evening from Santander Stadium. In the bottom of the 13th inning first baseman Chad Tracy laced a RBI walk-off single to propel York to a series opening victory.


In the top of the first inning right fielder Ty Wright cranked a home run (10) to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (28-20, 75-43) defeated the Long Island Ducks (22-26, 62-55) 4-3 Thursday evening from TD Bank Ballpark.


In the bottom of the first inning the Patriots plated three runs to take a 3-0 advantage. Right fielder Ty Wright and center fielder Luis Montanez registered RBI singles while third baseman Corey Smith socked a RBI double.


First baseman Joash Brodin hit a RBI groundout in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 3-1.

Win First Two Games Of The Series

Bridgewater, NJ – The Long Island Ducks (22-25, 62-54) defeated the Somerset Patriots (27-20, 74-43) 6-1 Wednesday evening from TD Bank Ballpark.


In the top of the first inning center fielder Lew Ford sliced a RBI double and designated hitter Bill Hall tallied a RBI sacrifice fly to give Long Island a 2-0 advantage.


Somerset cut the deficit in half in the ensuing half inning as right fielder Luis Montanez ripped a RBI single making the score 2-1.
