Central Islip, NY – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (25-18, 72-41) travel to the Empire State for the second time in as many weekends to battle the Long Island Ducks (20-23, 60-52) for the third game of a four game set featuring these Liberty Division foes. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from Bethpage Ballpark. Somerset is 7-8 against Long Island in 2014.

In the bottom of the first inning center fielder Lew Ford hit a RBI groundout to give the Flock a 1-0 advantage.

 

Right fielder Luis Montanez slugged a home run (13) in the top of the second inning to even the contest at 1-1.

Patriots drop series opener

Central Islip, NY – The Long Island Ducks (20-22, 60-51) defeated the Somerset Patriots (24-18, 71-41) 3-1 Thursday evening from Bethpage Ballpark.

 

In the bottom of the second inning first baseman Joash Brodin slugged a two run home run (7) to give Long Island a 2-0 advantage.

 

The Ducks added a run in the bottom of the fifth inning as third baseman Brandon Harris laced a RBI

Blue Crabs Double Up Patriots 4-2

Southern Maryland Salvages Final Game Of Series


Bridgewater, NJ – The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (21-20, 50-61) salvaged the series finale against the Somerset Patriots (24-17, 71-40) by winning 4-2 Wednesday evening from TD Bank Ballpark.

 

In the top of the second inning designated hitter Luke Murton slugged a home run (9) to give the Blue Crabs a 1-0 advantage.

 

Somerset grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as left fielder Ty Wright stroked a RBI single and center fielder Cory Harrilchak hit a RBI groundout.

Jon Hunton Sets New Team Saves Record

Notches His 38th Save Of The Season


Bridgewater, NJ – On Monday, August 18th closer Jon Hunton broke the single season Somerset Patriots franchise record for most saves in a year by notching his 38th save. He surpassed the previous record, a mark in which Hunton established last year, and there is still one month left in the season.

 

“I feel good,” the 31 year old North Plainfield product said. “I feel like as I get older I gain more confidence and more experience. It all starts in the clubhouse with the guys. These are guys I enjoy coming

Patriots Have The Wright Stuff

Shutout Blue Crabs 3-0


Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (24-16, 71-39) shutout the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (20-19, 49-61) 3-0 Tuesday evening from TD Bank Ballpark.

 

In the bottom of the eighth inning left fielder Ty Wright blasted a majestic three run home run (9) to give the Patriots a 3-0 lead.

 

Juan Rincon (2-0) earned the win in relief. Charlie Manning (1-7) suffered the loss in relief. Jun Hunton notched his Atlantic League leading 39th save pitching the ninth.

Hunton Sets New Team Saves Record With 38


Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (23-16, 70-39) defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (20-19, 49-60) 3-2 Monday evening from TD Bank Ballpark. Jon Hunton set the single season Somerset Patriots saves record as he notched his 38th save of the year. The previous record was 37 saves established in 2013 by Hunton.

 

In the bottom of the fifth inning the Somerset Patriots plated three runs to take a 3-0 advantage. Second baseman Jeff Dominguez pounded a RBI double while first baseman Daryle Ward socked a RBI single.

 

Somerset Patriots Golf Classic Set For September 8th

Bridgewater, NJ – Play golf with the Somerset Patriots at their 15th Annual Golf Classic at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, NJ on Monday, September 8th.

 

The Golf Classic is a five-player celebrity scramble, with each foursome being matched up with a Somerset Patriots player or coach. There will be a shotgun start at 12:00 pm and different contests on the course to win prizes.

 

The Honorary Chair for the event is Craig Carton of WFAN’s “Boomer And Carton Show.”

Ducks Sweep Patriots With 8-3 Win

Patriots drop third straight

Central Islip, NY – The Long Island Ducks (17-21, 57-50) defeated the Somerset Patriots (22-16, 69-39) 8-3 Sunday evening from Bethpage Ballpark. It’s the first time all year Somerset has been swept in a series. It’s also Somerset’s first three game losing streak since May 3rd to May 6th when they lost four in a row.

 

In the top of the first inning right fielder Luis Montanez stroked a two RBI single to give Somerset a 2-0 advantage.
