Bridgewater, NJ- The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball has named five Somerset Patriots as All-Stars to represent the Liberty Division in the 2015 All-Star Game to be played at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Wednesday, July 8th.


Outfielders Aharon Eggleston and Scott Cousins, catcher James Skelton, and pitchers Sean Bierman and Lucas Irvine have been chosen to represent Somerset in the Mid-Summer Classic.


Eggleston is leading the team and ranks third in the league in hitting with a .316 batting average. He has 33 runs scored, 55

48th Win Of Half Ties League Record

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (48-18) defeated the Camden Riversharks (26-40) 6-3 Wednesday evening at Campbell’s Field. With the victory the magic number to clinch the First Half Liberty Division Title is now one game.


With their 48th win of the half, the Patriots set a franchise record for most wins in a half and have tied the Atlantic League record for most wins in a half joining the 2005 Atlantic City Surf and the 2013 Sugar Land Skeeters.

Camden, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (47-18) commute for the Turnpike Series with the Camden Riversharks (26-39) as these two Garden State foes battle in the third game of a four game midweek set from Campbell’s Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Somerset is 4-2 against Camden in 2015. These two squads play each other 24 times so first to 13 victories wins the Turnpike Cup.

Bierman Earns His 7th Win Of The Season

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (47-18) defeated the Camden Riversharks (26-39) 8-1 Tuesday evening at Campbell’s Field. The game featured three different rain delays that totaled 114 minutes.


In the bottom of the first inning right fielder Carlos Guzman hit a RBI groundout to give Camden a 1-0 advantage.


The Patriots took a 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning as shortstop Robert Andino and right fielder Michael Burgess each socked RBI singles.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have partnered with Candlewood Suites to host Give Kids The World Day at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday, July 12th for the 5:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks.


Give Kids The World is a non-profit organization in Kissimmee, FL that exists to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions, and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need.

Salvation Army To Sponsor Toy Drive

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have teamed up with the Salvation Army of New Brunswick to host Christmas in July on Saturday, July 11th when they take on the Long Island Ducks.  The first pitch at TD Bank Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.


The first 2,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a logo baseball, provided by Financial Resources Federal Credit Union.


Immediately following the game, fans can enjoy a post-game fireworks show, presented by AT&T.

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (46-18) defeated the Camden Riversharks (26-38) 6-3 Monday evening at Campbell’s Field.


In the top of the third inning first baseman David Vidal ripped a RBI single to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.


Third baseman Joel Guzman blasted a two run home run (4) in the bottom of the third inning to give Camden a 2-1 lead.

Patriots Sign Rutgers OF Vinny Zarrillo

Activated For Sunday’s Game

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced that the team has signed outfielder Vinny Zarrillo.


Zarrillo played at Rutgers University and finished his college career with a .304 batting average, 109 runs scored, 227 hits, 40 doubles, seven triples, and 114 RBI in 208 games played.


Earlier this season at Rutgers, Zarrillo hit .294 with 32 runs scored, 65 hits, 12 doubles, and 25 RBI as a starter in all 55 games played. He led the team in plate appearances and at bats, and finished second on the

Patriots Offense Shut Down In Both Games

Bridgewater, NJ – The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (36-26) swept a doubleheader against the Somerset Patriots (45-18) at TD Bank Ballpark Sunday afternoon.

The Southern Maryland clubbed three home runs to top the Somerset Patriots 6-1 in game one of the doubleheader.
