Waldorf, MD – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (36-28, 83-51) invade Crustacean Nation for the first game of a three game midweek series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (35-29, 64-70). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from Regency Furniture Stadium. Somerset is 12-5 against Southern Maryland in 2014.

Halloween Night This Friday

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will host Halloween Night on Friday, September 19th for the team’s 7:05 pm game against the Bridgeport Bluefish.

 

The Patriots have teamed up with Norz Hill Farm for a great night for fans to enjoy. Fans that wear costumes to the game will receive $2.00 off their tickets at the box office and can compete in costume contests during the event.

Somerset Patriots Re-Sign Jake Fox

2013 Atlantic League Player Of The Year Returns


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have re-signed the 2013 Atlantic League Player of the Year Jake Fox.


Fox was leading the Atlantic League with 25 home runs and 82 RBI and was among the league leaders in several offensive categories including a .310 batting average before signing to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks last season. Despite playing in 96 games for Somerset last year, Fox’s numbers still ranked among the top in the league against players that played an entire season with their teams.

 

Patriots Sweep Riversharks With 4-1 Victory

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (36-28, 83-51) completed the three game sweep of the Camden Riversharks (23-41, 46-88) by winning 4-1 Sunday afternoon from Campbell’s Field.

 

In the top of the fourth inning the Patriots plated a pair of runs to take a 2-0 advantage. Right fielder Ty Wright registered a RBI sacrifice fly and another run cross via a wild pitch hurled by Ryan Kulik.

Merritt earns first win of year

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (35-28, 82-51) defeated the Camden Riversharks (23-40, 46-87) 3-2 Saturday evening from Campbell’s Field. The game was delayed one hour and eighteen minutes due to rain.

 

In the bottom of the first inning left fielder Brian Van Kirk registered a RBI sacrifice fly to give Camden a 1-0 advantage.

 

The Patriots plated a pair of runs in the top of the third inning to grab

Maloney tosses season-high 7.2 innings

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (34-28, 81-51) defeated the Camden Riversharks (23-39, 46-87) 5-2 Friday evening from Campbell’s Field.

 

In the top of the first inning pitcher Nick DeBarr hurled a wild pitch to plate first baseman Jeff Dominguez to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.

 

Somerset scored four times in the top of the second inning to grab a 5-0 lead. A run was plated via a fielding error by shortstop Brandon Chaves

Bluefish Edge Patriots 6-5 In 11 Innings

Teams split two game set

Bridgeport, CT – The Bridgeport Bluefish (20-41, 42-89) defeated the Somerset Patriots (33-28, 80-51) 6-5 in 11 innings Thursday evening from Harbor Yard. Pitcher David Harden threw a wild pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th inning that plated pinch runner Joe Mather as the Bluefish salvaged a split in this mini two game set.

 

In the top of the first inning third baseman Corey Smith sliced a RBI double to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.

Patriots Defeat Bluefish 8-2

Barden slugs go ahead home run

Bridgeport, CT – The Somerset Patriots (33-27, 80-50) defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish (19-41, 41-89) 8-2 Wednesday evening from Harbor Yard.

 

In the bottom of the first inning left fielder Fred Lewis slugged a RBI double to give Bridgeport a 1-0 advantage.

 

Somerset grabbed a 2-1 lead in the ensuing half inning as second baseman Scott Kelly notched a RBI groundout and center fielder Jonny Tucker poked a RBI single.

Patriots Sign Pitcher Salvador Sanchez

Recorded 25 Saves This Season


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have acquired right-handed pitcher Salvador Sanchez in a trade with the New Jersey Jackals for a player to be named later.

 

Sanchez has experience with the Chicago White Sox organization where he stad as an outfielder and was conved to a pitcher. He has two seasons of Double-A experience in the White Sox organization.

 

Earlier this season for New Jersey, Sanchez had a 4-2 record, a 2.40 ERA, 25 saves, and 46 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched in 42 games.
