Tryout To Be A Part Of The Team


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced that open player tryouts for the team will be held at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday, April 11th beginning at 8:30 am.

 

There will be an administration fee of $40 to tryout, with proceeds being donated to the Somerset Patriots Children’s Educational And Sportsmanship Foundation, which has been established to give to various charities suppod by the Somerset Patriots.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced that infielder/outfielder Ty Wright and catcher Damaso Espino have retired and moved into positions within Major League organizations.

 

Wright has accepted a coaching position with the Chicago Cubs organization for their Arizona League rookie team in Mesa.

 

Wright finished the 2014 season with a .265 batting average, 55 runs, 111 hits, 17 doubles, 13 home runs, and 64 RBI in 112 games for Somerset.

Reliever Salvador Sanchez Signed By Marlins

Pitcher Appeared With Somerset At End Of 2014 Season


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced that relief pitcher Salvador Sanchez has been signed by the Miami Marlins organization.

 

Sanchez joined the Somerset Patriots towards the end of the regular season and appeared in five games after being acquired in a trade with the New Jersey Jackals of the Can Am League. He also pitched in two games for the Patriots in the post season.

Three Dates Set For 2015 Season


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced that they will host three Bark in the Park Nights during the 2015 season. The first Bark in the Park Night is Wednesday, June 3rd. The remaining two dates are Tuesday, July 14th presented by Chasing Dreams Animal Massage and Photonic Therapy and Monday, August 24th. All three games are 7:05 pm.

Jake Fox Signs with Toronto Blue Jays

Former Patriot Earns Spring Training Invite


Bridgewater, N.J. – Somerset Patriots designated hitter Jake Fox has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays organization with a Major League Spring Training invite.

 

Last year, the Indiana native split the majority of his time between Mexico (Laguna) and Double-A Reading in the Philadelphia Phillies organization before finishing the season with the Patriots. Overall, Fox combined to hit .309 with 38 home runs and 118 RBI over 140 games.

A Record Number Of Toys Collected At Toy Drive

Thousands Of Toys Donated To Toys For Tots


Bridgewater, N.J. – The Somerset Patriots hosted its annual Holiday Toy Drive on Saturday, December 13 at TD Bank Ballpark. All of the toys were donated to The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots of Central Jersey.

 

A record number of toys were collected from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Somerset Patriots Team Store. Manager Emeritus Sparky Lyle was in attendance, where he met fans, signed autographs and took pictures.
