Holiday Toy Drive Set For December 13th

Bring A Toy For Those Less Fortunate


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots and Manager Emeritus Sparky Lyle have announced that they will host their annual Holiday Toy Drive at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

 

Fans will be able to bring unwrapped toys to the Somerset Patriots Team Store located at the ballpark throughout the day. The toys will be donated to The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots of Central New Jersey.

Reigning Reliever Of The Year Signed


Bridgewater, N.J.- Somerset Patriots right-handed pitcher Jason Lowey, the reigning Atlantic League Reliever Of The Year, has been signed by the Colorado Rockies organization. 

Lowey received the honor as the league’s top reliever after posting a 5-1 record with a 1.90 earned run average and 59 strikeouts against just 15 walks over 56.2 innings pitched. In addition, his 59 appearances were tied with closer Jon Hunton for the team lead.

Bridgewater, N.J. – The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball announced today the league’s Postseason Awards for the 2014 campaign, with seven Somerset Patriots players earning recognition.

 

Corey Smith (third base), Adam Donachie (catcher), Matt Zielinksi (left-handed star), Jason Lowey (reliever) and Jon Hunton (closer) were all named to the 2014 Atlantic League First-Team. Luis Montanez (outfielder) and Matt Maloney (left-handed star) were named to the Atlantic League Second-Team.

 

Smith led the team in hitting and ranked fourth in the league with a .305 average. In addition, the

Home Opener On Friday, May 1st


Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced their schedule for the 2015 season. Click Here For Full 2015 Schedule!

 

The Patriots will begin the season on the road and will have their home opener on Friday, May 1st against the York Revolution at 7:05 pm.

 

The Patriots will host 70 home games at TD Bank Ballpark during the 140 game Atlantic League schedule running from Friday, April 24th through Sunday, September 20th.

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots would like to thank all of our tremendous fans for a great 2014 season. Though we didn’t win it all this year, there is still a lot to be proud of on and off the field.

 

The Somerset Patriots finished with a league best 85-55 record and clinched both Half Titles of the Liberty Division. With their 47-23 record in the First Half, Somerset set a new team record for wins in a half.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Lancaster Barnstormers (3-2) defeated the Somerset Patriots (2-3) 9-1 Sunday afternoon in Game Five of the Liberty Division Series from TD Bank Ballpark. With the victory the Barnstormers advance to their 3rd Atlantic League Championship Series in franchise history. Lancaster won games one, four, and five to win this best-of-five series 3-2.

 

The Barnstormers powered their way to victory as they launched four home runs in Game Five and drilled eight home runs in the series.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Lancaster Barnstormers (2-2) rallied past the Somerset Patriots (2-2) 4-3 Saturday evening in Game Four of the Liberty Division Series from TD Bank Ballpark. The best-of-five series is now even at 2-2. Pinch hitter Yusuke Kajimoto’s grand slam in the top of the eighth inning stood to be the difference.

 

In the bottom of the first inning designated hitter Jake Fox recorded a RBI groundout as the Patriots grabbed a 1-0 lead.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (2-1) defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers (1-2) 2-1 Friday evening in Game Three of the Liberty Division Series from TD Bank Ballpark in front of 7,483 fans. The Patriots lead the best-of-five series 2-1.

 

In the bottom of the third inning shortstop Jeff Dominguez worked a seven pitch walk then stole second base. With two outs right fielder Ty Wright ripped a RBI single to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.

Lancaster, PA – The Somerset Patriots (1-1) defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers (1-1) 5-4 in 11 innings Thursday evening in Game Two of the Liberty Division Series from Clipper Magazine Stadium. The series is tied at 1-1 in the best-of-five set. The Patriots erased a three run deficit heading into the seventh inning to rally and salvage a split on the road.

 

In the top of the 11th inning designated hitter Jake Fox slugged a go ahead RBI double to give Somerset its first lead of the evening at 5-4.
