Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will host their 2015 home opener at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday, May 1st against the York Revolution at 7:05 pm.

 

The game will include an extraordinary Post Game Fireworks Show and 2015 Schedule Magnets for all fans presented by Somerset Health Care Foundation.

 

It will also be Bridgewater Baseball And Softball Night with thousands of players, families, and friends joining the Somerset Patriots as the 2015 season kicks off at home.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced they will feature new home jerseys and a batting practice jersey as part of the new on-field merchandise line for the 2015 season.

 

In partnership with Team Gear Apparel, the official Atlantic League on-field apparel and uniform provider, the Patriots will have a new look as they enter the new season.

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will host Spring Training at TD Bank Ballpark from Tuesday, April 14th through Thursday, April 23rd.

Roster Hits 30 As Spring Training Approaches


Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of right-handed pitcher Tyler Herron and left-handed pitchers Sean Bierman and Anthony Collazo.

Herron enters his first season in the Atlantic League and first season with the Patriots. He’ll arrive in Somerset with nine seasons of minor league experience, reaching as high as Triple-A Syracuse last season in the Washington Nationals organization.

 

Last year, the West Palm Beach, Florida native split time between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse. Overall, Herron went 4-2 with a 3.08

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of former Major League outfielder Scott Cousins, infielder/outfielder Adalberto Santos and the return of former Major League pitcher Mitch Atkins.

Cousins begins his first season with the Patriots with four years of Major League service to his name. He spent parts of 2010-12 in the majors with the Miami Marlins before appearing in seven games with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2013.

Three More Versatile Arms Add Depth To Pitching Staff


Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of former Major League pitchers Mickey Storey and Buddy Boshers, and the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Kyler Newby.

Storey brings two years of Major League service into his first season with the Patriots. The righty made his Major League debut in 2012 with the Houston Astros, carrying a 3.86 earned run average over 26 relief appearances.

Both Infielders Bring Combined 14 Years Of MLB Experience


Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of former Major League infielders Mat Gamel and Robert Andino.

Gamel begins his first year with the Patriots having spent parts of five seasons from 2008-2012 in the Majors with the Milwaukee Brewers. Over that span, Gamel hit six home runs with 29 RBI, including five home runs in 2009.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of pitchers Andrew Carignan and Edwin Quirarte, catcher/infielder James Skelton and the re-signing of pitcher David Harden.

Carignan enters his first year with the Patriots, having made two stops at the Major League level with the Oakland Athletics in 2011 and 2012. In the Majors, the right-handed reliever made 17 appearances, recording one win and scattering eight hits with 13 strikeouts over 16 innings of work.

The Pact Will Have Him In His Role For 25 Years


Bridgewater, NJ- Somerset Patriots Chairman Steve Kalafer has announced that the team has extended the contract of President/General Manager Patrick McVerry for eight years. The significance of this contract extension is that it will have McVerry in his role for 25 years.

 

The announcement was made at a special luncheon at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Somerville, NJ on Wednesday, March 18th. The event welcomed Somerset County officials, team partners, and dignitaries. Kalafer introduced the program that also included words from McVerry and Somerset Patriots Manager Emeritus Sparky Lyle.

Multi-Position Infielders Add Depth To Roster


Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signings of infielders Greg Hopkins and David Vidal.

Hopkins arrives in Somerset after spending his entire professional baseball career in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. In five seasons with the Brewers, he has reached as high as Double-A.

 

The Mansfield, Massachusetts native split time between High-A Brevard County and Double-A Huntsville in 2014. Combined, Hopkins hit six home runs with 27 runs batted in, 33 runs scored and seven stolen bases.
