Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Matt Bywater. He enters his first season both with the Somerset Patriots and in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

Somerset Patriots To Host National Anthem Auditions

Event Scheduled For March 12th At Menlo Park Mall

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots, along with Magic 98.3 FM and WCTC 1450 AM, have announced that the team will host National Anthem Auditions on Saturday, March 12th from 12-4 pm at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison. 


The event will be a fundraiser designed to benefit Operation Shoebox New Jersey, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to collecting donated supplies to ship care packages to U.S. troops based overseas.

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have launched Trophy Tour to give partners and fans a chance to celebrate the 2015 Atlantic League Championship throughout the community.


Trophy Tour will bring the Atlantic League Championship Trophy to different partner locations and community events in the area for viewing and pictures. At select events, local players and Sparkee The Mascot will be in attendance to add to the festivities.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the re-signing of catcher/ infielder David Vidal.

Vidal returns to Somerset for his second year with the Patriots. Last season, he hit .259 with 12 home runs and a team-leading 63 RBI. Vidal also led the team in games played (124), at-bats (471) and hits (122) during the regular season.

2015 All-Star Returns For Fourth Year In Somerset

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have announced the re-signing of outfielder Aharon Eggleston.


The 2015 Atlantic League all-star and one of the “Outfielders of the Year” returns to Somerset for his fourth season with the Patriots. Last year, he finished second in the league in on-base percentage (.390) and seventh in batting (.289), while also tallying five home runs and 46 RBI.

Eggleston continued his strong play into the postseason, leading the eventual Atlantic League champions with nine runs scored, including a .333 average,

RWJUH Somerset To Host Free Cardiac And Concussion Athletic Screening

Event Will Take Place On Saturday, February 6th

SOMERVILLE, N.J. – Free cardiac and concussion screenings for young athletes will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, 110 Rehill Avenue in Somerville, N.J.


The cardiac screening is targeted for athletes ages 14 to 18. The screening will look for major abnormalities known to cause sudden cardiac death, which affects an average of 1 in 100,000 student athletes nationwide each year.
